Who Is Thugesh? A Quick Introduction

If you’ve spent even ten minutes scrolling Indian YouTube, chances are you’ve bumped into a Thugesh video. Maybe it was a roast. Maybe it was a “thug life” edit of a cricketer losing his cool. Either way, the guy behind the camera has built one of India’s most recognizable comedy brands—and people are naturally curious about the human behind the persona.

Thugesh Real Name: The Man Behind the Persona

The name “Thugesh” is a fun mashup—”thug” plus a nod to typical Indian names ending in “-esh.” But behind the screen name is a real, full-time working professional: Mahesh Keshwala.

Mahesh was born and brought up in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and comes from a middle-class Gujarati household. He wasn’t a topper in school either—by his own admission, he used to be an average student in school and college. That’s actually part of his charm; his fans relate to him precisely because his journey doesn’t read like a fairy tale.

He went on to complete his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) from the University of Mumbai, which, as it turns out, gave him a practical head for handling brand deals and building a business out of comedy later in his career.

How Thugesh Started His YouTube Journey

He launched his YouTube channel named Thug Life Compilation in 2014, where he shared edited “thug life” clips of celebrities, cricketers, and politicians. His very first video reportedly featured cricketer Chris Gayle in an “Ultimate Chris Gayle Thug Life Compilation” — a video that helped him find his early audience.

But it wasn’t smooth sailing. His career almost ended due to demonetization issues on YouTube and a copyright strike. For a young creator with no financial safety net, losing income overnight is terrifying. Many creators quit at this stage. Mahesh didn’t.

He kept uploading, and one video eventually crossed half a million views, pulling him back into the game. That resilience—posting even when nobody’s watching—is a big part of why long-time fans respect him.

Thugesh Age: How Old Is He in 2026?

Thugesh was born on September 9, 1996, which makes him 29 years old as of late 2026. He’s a Virgo, born and raised entirely in Mumbai, a city whose fast pace and street-smart humor clearly rubbed off on his content style.

Thugesh Height and Physical Appearance

Fans searching “Thugesh height” usually want to know if the on-screen presence matches real life. It largely does—he stands at roughly 5 feet 11 inches (180 cm), with a lean, fit build weighing around 73 kg. Before comedy, he actually tried his hand at modeling, so keeping a fit frame has stayed part of his routine.

From Modeling Dreams to Comedy Gold: His Career Path

Here’s something a lot of fans don’t know: before Thugesh became a full-time comedian, he wanted to be a model and actor.

He started his career in modelling but didn’t find success there. Undeterred, he took ramp-walk gigs, including appearances at Pune Fashion Week and India Fashion Week, and even featured in a Lux Cozi advertisement. He also popped up in a couple of Bollywood-adjacent music videos, including “Main Nahi Januga” (2018) by Ankit Tiwari and “Mukammal” (2022) by Yasser Desai.

Modeling didn’t fully take off, so he pivoted to what actually worked: comedy. Roast videos, meme reviews, and social commentary became his real lane, and the digital world rewarded him for it.

The Big Break: The Thugesh Show

In 2023, Mahesh launched what would become his biggest project yet — The Thugesh Show, a chat-style talk show where he interviews YouTubers, vloggers, gamers, and entertainers. It’s often compared to a younger, internet-native version of a Kapil Sharma-style talk show, minus the scripted drama.

The show earned him real industry recognition — he was ranked on the Forbes India Digital Stars 2024 list and won a Global Excellence Award for Best Talk Show in 2024, along with a Comedic Critic of the Year Award the same year.

Cast Of The Thugesh Show: Who Appears With Him?

Unlike a fixed-cast sitcom, The Thugesh Show runs on a rotating roster of guests rather than permanent co-stars, since it’s structured as an interview/chat format. Some of the big names who’ve shared the couch with him include:

Thugesh Wife: Meet Jigisha Bhanushali

On November 22, 2025, Mahesh confirmed his marriage to his longtime girlfriend, Jigisha Bhanushali, sharing wedding photos with the caption “Collaboration of a Lifetime!” The wedding had all the traditional touches — he wore an ivory sherwani while the bride wore a red lehenga, and the couple posed with foreheads touching in one particularly heartfelt photo.

So who is Jigisha? She’s not from the influencer world at all. She’s a qualified Company Secretary (CS) who completed her LLB from Asmita College of Law in Vikhroli, Mumbai, and she keeps her Instagram account private, staying well away from the spotlight despite marrying one of India’s most-watched YouTubers.

Thugesh Marriage is now one of the most-searched terms tied to his name, right up there with his roast videos — proof that fans care as much about the person as the persona.

Thugesh Net Worth: How Much Does He Really Earn?

Exact figures aren’t publicly disclosed by Mahesh himself, so treat all numbers below as estimates drawn from public reporting, not confirmed financial statements.
